What happens when you finally decide to leave the ruins of your old life behind?

That is the story at the heart of my new videoclip for “A Long Time Coming,” the title track from my debut album.

The song is about reaching a turning point; that moment when you realise that, whatever has happened in the past, you still have the power to choose what comes next. The videoclip takes that idea and turns it into a visual journey: a woman emerging from the wreckage of a relationship and finding the strength, optimism and confidence to begin again.

We meet her in a ruined villa, surrounded by graffiti and the remnants of something that has clearly fallen apart. It is a place that feels abandoned, both physically and emotionally. She is still carrying the weight of what has happened, but something inside her is changing.

The villa represents the past: the relationship, the disappointment, the memories and the version of herself that no longer fits.

And then she makes a choice.

She walks away.

Leaving the ruined villa behind, she gets into her little Mazda sports car and sets off through the mountains. The landscape opens up around her as she drives, and gradually the mood changes. What began in darkness and destruction becomes a journey towards freedom, possibility and a new sense of self.

Eventually, she leaves the mountains behind and drives into the city, into life, movement and whatever comes next.

For me, that journey is what “A Long Time Coming” is really about. It isn’t a song about pretending that the past didn’t hurt. It is about acknowledging what happened and then deciding that it doesn’t get to define the rest of your story.

We filmed the videoclip in the spectacular Sierra Calderona Natural Park, whose rugged Mediterranean landscape was the perfect setting for the journey. The mountains give the video a sense of space and freedom, while the ruined villa provides a stark contrast at the beginning.

Some scenes were also filmed at La Vitti Bar in Valencia, bringing the story from the wild landscape into the energy and life of the city.

The videoclip was directed and produced by Voltika Films, who helped turn the emotional journey of the song into something tangible and cinematic.

There is something deeply personal about releasing this video. A Long Time Coming is my debut album, and in many ways the whole project represents a new chapter for me as an artist. After years of writing, performing and wondering where the music might take me, I am finally stepping fully into that life.

Just like the woman in the video, sometimes you have to look at the ruins, take a breath, get in the car and drive.

You don’t necessarily know exactly where you’re going.

You just know you’re ready to go.
